Letters of Friendship

Friendship is like the breeze,
You can't hold it,
Smell it,
Taste it,
Or know when it's coming,
But you can always feel it,
And you'll always know it's there,
It may come and then go,
But you can know it'll always be back.
Time and again we come acorss friendships that Anuj made in his short life. Each one being special in its own special way and each one having its own touching memory of Anuj. Recently we came another such example. Peter, a childhood friend of Anuj's from Michighan reached out to us and shared some of his most memorable childhood recolletions of him and Anuj growing up together. In addition, he also sent the family, letters that Anuj wrote to him over two decades ago, after moving to India. Peter holding on these letters gave us another glimpse at the special friendship bonds that Anuj made with his peers, ones that continue to live on as he does in our hearts.

Anuj and Peter along with the rest of their little league baseball team. Anuj is second from left (standing) with Peter on his immediate left. Spring, 1983

This is a beautiful tribute to Anuj. I am reminded of a famous quote by Henry Adams - "Friends are born and not made". Though I never knew Anuj, I am sure his friendship was cherished by all.

As Christmas & New Year are approaching,
I miss our Beloved Anuj tremendously,

Where ever I go I see my Anuj's smiling face,
As if he is saying softly,
Happy Christmas mom,
& Very Happy New Year,

Knowing that, Anuj's memories are still alive in the hearts of so many people around the world, gives me the strength, courage and peace, to fulfill his wishes.

Remembering my son during this time of the year,
As I always do each & every second of the day.

Hi everyone,

as Anuj's birthday approaches, I am thinking of him more and more. I miss Anuj terribly, his laugh, his smile, and his honest spirit. Please take some time to remember him, and let his life warm yours.

I miss you brother.

Book Of friendship... Every Page Speaks

Page 1:
Nothing opens
the heart
like a true friend,
to whom you may
impart griefs, joys,
fears, hopes... and
whatever lies
upon the heart.

Page 2:
Old friends
pass away,
new friends appear.
It is just like the days.
An old days passes,
a new day arrives.
The important thing
is to make it meaningful:
a meaningful friend -
or a meaningful day.

Page 3:
Friendship warms
like a sunbeam;
charms
like a good story;
inspires
like a brave leader;
binds
like a golden chain;
guides
like a heavenly vision.

Page 4:
Friendship is usually
treated... as though...
thing which will survive
all manner of bad
treatment.
But this is an exceedingly
great and foolish error;
it may die in an hour
of a single unwise word...

Page 5:
"Never look back...
Never regret...
Never remember
the people you've met.
Never begin...
And never end...
Never say never
when it comes to your friends!"
